Jerry Seinfeld

I did it. I broke down and bought a couple of tickets to see Jerry Seinfeld when he comes to Salt Lake in June. They were kinda pricey, but we didn't go when he came last time (a few years ago), and we heard from someone that did go that it was absolutely hilarious. I wouldn't expect anything else. We watch reruns of his TV show almost daily, and I even have one of his books (I wonder where that is... note to self: find that book and re-read it). So, I decided that we needed to go to it.

When the 2002 Winter Olympics were here, we went downtown a couple of times to check out the action, but we didn't go to any of the competitions. Tickets to Olympic events were pretty expensive, and we were pretty poor, but we are forever kicking ourselves that we didn't just buy some tickets to something so that we could see some Olympic competition in person. In retrospect, we could have cut back somewhere and been able to make it work. Eating peanut butter and pasta (not necessarily at the same time) for a month or two would have been fine. I mean, how often do the Olympics come to your town? Duh. We were lame.

So we're going to see Jerry Seinfeld. He's very funny, and one of the top comedians of "my time." I think if we didn't go we'd probably wish we would have.

I love Jerry! We saw him a couple years ago when he came here.

And yeah, totally lame for not going to the Olympics. But so was I because I had a free place to stay and I didn't come up and see them either. BUT at least you got to be in them sort of.

We're going to Bill Maher apparently. Blaine is excited. I just consider it a chance to have a date. Hopefully it will be funny.

That's true... we did get to play a part in the Opening Ceremonies. I wish I would have brought a camera while we were doing that so that I would have pics of the experience.

They offered to let us participate in the Closing Ceremonies, too, but we chose not to. Good thing, too, because there was a TON of fluorescent paint thrown around and many people (including athletes) had clothes ruined.

Yay for Seinfeld!

One of my favorite quotes:

Elaine: Yeah. I met this lawyer, we went out to dinner, I had the lobster bisque, we went back to my place, yada yada yada, I never heard from him again.
Jerry: But you yada yada'd over the best part.
Elaine: No, I mentioned the bisque.

I think of that every time I hear or read the word "bisque".

I love the yada yada one. Actually I love them all.

So, no new post? No new comments from you on my blog? What's going on?
